FAQ’s

How do I book my wedding?
Call or complete the form in the “contact us” section to check availability. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total package price will be required to hold your date. Unfortunately we cannot hold a date and time for you without a deposit. For your convenience we do accept all major credit cards and PayPal. If you will be mailing a check, we will hold the date for 3 business days, as long as we have a signed contract.
What area do you serve?
We serve the beautiful south Florida area which includes: Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. We are located in Miami and will charge a travel fee for locations north of Ft. Lauderdale and south of Homestead.
How far in advance should I reserve?
We recommend reserving as soon as you have a date. Although we do accept last minute requests, they are subject to availability and services may not be available.
What if it rains?
This is our most frequently asked question. Here in Florida we are blessed to have year round gorgeous weather. However there is always the possibility that it can rain on the day of your event. With that said, we cannot stress enough the importance of a back up plan in the event of bad weather. Particularly during the months of June through October which is know as our “rainy” season. Here are some different options:
- If you are having a reception, the ceremony can be moved there. If it will be in a restaurant, please make sure to check ahead of time with the staff to see if it would be alright to move the ceremony there.
- If you are coming in from out of town to elope with little or no guests, then we can move the ceremony to your hotel room. Hotels will sometimes upgrade your room to a suite for the ceremony. Please check ahead of time with your hotel.
- If you are having your ceremony in one of the locations which offer shelter for rent, you are highly encouraged to reserve a shelter as a backup location. Here are some of the locations with shelters for rent:
- Crandon Park, Key, Biscayne
- Bill Baggs State Park, Key Biscayne
- John Lloyd State Park, Dania Beach
- Matheson Hammock, Coral Gables
You may also want to consider wedding insurance: http://www.wedsafe.com.
Please note that backup location must be within 20 minutes of your ceremony site. If you need help with a backup plan, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
What is the best time of day for a beach wedding?
Late afternoon and sunset offer the fewest people on the beach and the most comfortable temperature (especially in the summer months). We do not recommend late morning wedding in the summer months. These are just some recommendations; we will book weddings at anytime.
Is there a permit required for a beach wedding?
Most of the beaches in Florida are public and will not require a permit. Some will have certain restrictions. If you will be staying at a hotel on the beach and want to have your ceremony behind the hotel, you will have to get permission from the hotel to do so. Some locations do have a site fee, such as Crandon Park and Bill Baggs state park. We can assist you with the permitting process, however it is the couples responsibility to obtain and pay for any permit or site fees.
Who takes the pictures?
We use various professional photographers, all highly qualified and pre-screened by us. All the photos in our photo gallery were taken by our photographers.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes, you may also add anything meaningful or have a friend or family member say something during the ceremony. It’s your ceremony and it should be the way you want it.
What is the Sand Ceremony?
This lovely ceremony is performed after the ring ceremony. The couple reaches down and takes a handful of sand from beneath them, and while a beautiful verse is read, they pour the sand into a heart shaped glass. It can also be done with two bottles pre-filled with beach sand or colored sand (you pick the colors). This replaces the traditional “Unity Candle” ceremony and is more appropriate for outdoor beach weddings. This ceremony comes with a beautiful keepsake heart shaped glass.
What kind of music is played?
Whichever kind you would like played. We can play traditional wedding music or any contemporary choice. If it is a rare or hard to find piece, we will request that you provide the CD MP3 file.
Are the flowers on the arches fresh or silk?
All of our flowers are fresh, including the ones on the arch.
What is the beach wedding coordination fee?
This is the fee to coordinate your wedding ceremony and it includes the coordination of all the vendors at the ceremony, assisting guests and directing them to the proper location, setup, cleanup, of beach and timing of ceremony to ensure a stress-free event. It will be added to any custom package and the fee will depend on the complexity of the event.
Do you coordinate receptions?
Yes. We do coordinate your reception from the intimate group to larger parties.
Can we get married without a license?
No. This is against Florida Law. If you don’t have a marriage license with you the day of your ceremony, then we will perform a commitment ceremony instead.
What if we are already married and want to do a wedding ceremony for our family and friends?
Then we will perform a vow renewal service. We cannot perform a “mock” wedding ceremony, this is against Florida law.
